Phyllis Sudman

2014 L'Oreal Paris Women of Worth National Honoree, CoFounder of Simon's Fund and E Commerce Executive

In 2004 Phyllis Sudman gave birth to her second child, Simon, who after 12 weeks died in his sleep. At the urging of her physician, Phyllis got her heart checked and found out she had a heart condition called Long QT Syndrome, which is linked to up to 15% of all SIDS deaths. As she dealt with grief and learned about this issue, Phyllis pledged to spare other families from enduring this tragedy. She co-founded Simon’s Fund to raise awareness about the warning signs and conditions that lead to sudden cardiac arrest and death in children. Through her leadership, Simon’s Fund has raised over $1 million and has screened over 10,000 students, which helped detect more than 100 potentially fatal heart conditions. Phyllis is a L'Oréal Paris 2014 National Women of Worth Honoree.
